2007 season

The 2007 season has begun....This season I will try to give an overview of the nights events every week.......

Monadnock Speedway opened their season last Saturday and it was a busy day right from the very beginning...we got there at 9:30am with the car.....Before practice begun tech came around and discovered that we along with quite a few other cars still had anti-freeze in the car....so prior to being allowed on the track we had to flush out the car and put water back in....once we were cleared...it was time to get one practice run in.....I went out there to get a little rhythm and try a couple different driving styles and found one I liked and would use come feature time.....

The Mini Stock feature was a fairly clean race.....Geoff Rollins got out front and never had a serious challange again......Beth Adams got the black flag for oil leaking and she wound up with a 19th place finish.....Kevin Oullette Jr and John O'dea where having a battle for second while Emerson Cayer was working thru the field......Rollins took the win convincely and Cayer just hours off of his honeymoon came in second and Oullette held on for third.....

Strictlys winner was Mark Smith he got the lead on the Green Flag and never got a real challange til the last couple laps Mike Roy had a few good looks but couldnt get it done......Ken Springer and Greg Williams had a little post-race activity over in turn 3 after an accident in the last handful of laps......

The Late Model race went caution free and Ed Lofland got his first win in a long time...he narrowly held on to the victory from a hard charging defending champion Keith Carzello who ended up second and John lavoie had a strong run to pick up the third place trophy...The move of the night came during the Late model feature...a few cars got slowed up coming out of turn 2..Adam Gray saw a hole in between 2 cars and went right up the gut to gain 2 spots towards the finish....

The 50 lap Outlaw Pro triple crown event was dominated by Jeff Zuidema who earlier in the night won the Pro-4 Modified feature.....Barry Gray finished second and Bryon Baker took third.....only 6 cars finished on the lead lap.....Rob Williams had a "loose" condition all night and battled through to get a 8th place result.....

I started my feature 25th and ended up 21st when all was said and done....may not have had the most ideal finish...but it was my best driving race I have had yet....I used it as mostly a test session..and have learned a lot for the next few races and hopefully can start moving forward...I did have one altercation with the front stretch wall with about 5 laps to go....but all is okay with the machine and am ready to go on May 5th......

Crew Member and unofficial teammate Bruce Clark had a tremendous run and finished 5th or 7th in the 4cyl enduro

Next Monadnock race is this weekend April 28th.....the Next Time RBT Motorsports hits the track is May 5th.......til..then  enjoy the weather......
